Twilight – Guardian Shoulder Dragon

This is Twilight, She is very stubborn and  wouldn’t tell me her real name so after much thought and consults, Twilight was chosen for her….  We shall see if it sticks….

Twilight -a Guardian Shoulder Dragon

I love the blue shimmer fabric I used for the under wings

Twilight can be posed standing up

She has a very sweet face, and I think the Royal blue eyes are perfect

This is Twilight … She is a beautiful blue dragon,
I used a blue velvet with black scales fabric for the body, matched with a black velour with a blue shimmer for the under colors. And I used a black Lycra velvet for his back spine, and spiral wrapped horns.

With her piercing Royal blue eyes Twilight is an entrancing dragon.
She has a mane of navy blue fox fur.

This beautiful Blue girl is approximately 59 inches- measured from her nose, over the head along the back and to her tail tip, and has a full length ball and socket armature. Her body, depending on the pose is 12 x 14 inches- with a very long tail.
The wings are fully wired and have a span of approximately – 27 inches.
The arms and legs are attached with covered button joints, and are fully wired, and may be posed with care.

This is a Guardian Shoulder Dragon and can sit upon your shoulder while you go on your travels. The feet should be slightly cupped to fit upon your shoulder, drape the tail down your back and up and over to your opposite shoulder for balance.

( Please, this is not a toy, and is not for small children-small parts may pose a choking hazard)

Komodo Dragon – Cosimo -Work in progress

I almost have Cosimo finished, discovered a few problems that will need to be tweaked, first the next one needs to be made out of a fabric with much less stretch, Cosimo has ballooned to gargantuan size, 2nd the leg joints are to loose, they may be fine for a big furry Teddy Bear, but won’t enable the Komodo to stand properly, and the 3rd is – while the wings are amazing- they are really to heavy to keep upright.  I have been contemplating ripping him open and removing the doll joints – then reassembling him with button joints.  As for the wings- not much to be done with this one, but for the next they will need to be much lighter, I am thinking of using a lighter glued on material over a wing frame…will need to do some experimenting.

Almost finished,  I still need to attach the limbs, Sculpt the face- and hope that it is able to stand on it’s own! I had to use a stronger armature for this guy- he is well over 6 ft long….

Komodo - almost finished

Komodo

Here I have laid out the body and legs to figure out the best placement for the legs.  And if you look closely- yes, I purchased him a spiked collar .

Ring-tail

Making a ring tail requires  cutting and piecing the tail pieces together…

Komodo body sewn

I think the striped ring-tail is worth the extra effort.

I wanted to give the wings a jagged edge…battle scarred look.

wings

When making the wing channels, I free hand the lines with chalk and use an amazing amount of pins before sewing them….

limbs with claws

I added faux bear claws,  they are sharp so I’ll need to file his nails

Nice claws

Komodo back points

I like the claws so much I decided to add them to the back spine…probably not my best idea but since the claws/spikes are wired onto the back armature,  they will stay on this dragon…

Hoping to have this one finished in the next couple of weeks, which will feel great since this has taken over a year to get to this point…

Hex

This is Hex,  I haven’t made too many all black dragons, but they are very magical and mysterious looking….

This is Hex - A Guardian Shoulder Dragon -

I gave her bight yellow eyes, and a black fox fur mane

Hex, posed standing up

Hex – Guardian Dragon

This is Hex, … She reminds me of a moonless night, all black except for her yellow searching eyes. Perhaps she is looking for her very own Black Knight?
I used a wet look black Lycra velvet fabric for her body, and I love the look,

I used a black lycra velvet for her back spine, inner ears, wings, belly and spiral wrapped horns, and choose yellow eyes to contrast the black coloring.

Hex has a mane of black fox fur, and I used a black texture paint for her claws and face nubs

This magical dragon is approximately 59 inches from nose to tail tip, measured over the head and along the back, and has a full length ball and socket armature. Her  body, depending on the pose is approximately 15 x 13 inches- with a very long tail. The wings are fully wired and have a span of approximately – 24 inches. The arms and legs are attached with covered button joints, and are fully wired, and may be posed with care.

Moogans- “This is why you tell your dragons not to play with their food!”

This is MOO-shi, she is what I call a Moogan.  She has such a sweet face, and I love the black and white markings on her.

Mooligan is quite the little hooligan! She has big brown eyes and I love the black and white markings on her face. I do love all the Moogans – each one is so unique. I think Moos rule!

Genghis the Moogolian - Shoulder Dragon

Genghis is quite the eye catcher! He has his father’s red eyes and is quite the rascal,  I love the ostrich boa, and his black and white face markings.

A Moogan can come in any size or style of dragon. And be made with either a faux fur, fox fur or ostrich boa. I do love the cow dragons. I have even thought of adding udders, the thought of milking a dragon is amusing – warm hands would be a must!

Dragontry History: Originally we made cow gryphons, (called Moophons), Later I made a very few cow nipper (baby) dragons…which were quickly herded off to their new homes!

Yay, just finished a dragon order!

Here’s a bright and colorful batch of Nipper dragons. These little dragons are just hatched and will be going to Australia, where they are sure to find wonderful homes to nest in.

– white sparkle
– yellow rainbow swirl and red
– Pink sparkle and orange
– purple and Teal

Reserved for Jo Morgan, four Nipper Dragons
Each dragon has a bead and wire armature and the legs, feet, wings, ears and arms are wired.
Only the legs are covered button jointed, the arms are sewn in place.
Approximate measurements are: The body is 25-27 inches measured from the nose, over the head and along the back to the tail tip. Standing height is 6 inches – depending on how each is posed, and up to 7 inch for the the wing span.

Nipper Dragons can stand, but still have their baby fat and prefer to be carried, and loved.

Banshee- Royal Clawed Shoulder Dragon

Banshee, A Dragontry Dragon

Banshee was a fun dragon to make, and the first clawed dragon I hatched. Banshee is still my favorite dragon.
The stretch Lycra velvet tie dye fabric is beautiful, I love the browns and teal greens, I matched it with dark brown stretch Lycra velvet.
Banshee has a teal green fox fur mane, and teal eyes.

I used shell (shark tooth) beads for the horns and claws- each one was hand sewn in place, then glued and secured by sealing with a copper texture paint.

Banshee is approximately 60 inches from nose ring to tail tip. Her body has a full length doll armature, the arms and legs are fully wired and may be posed with care, also she may sit upon your shoulder by wrapping the long tail around your neck and shoulder for balance.

Marzipan- Ring-tailed Shoulder Dragon

Marzipan

This is Marzipan, a very pink, glittery, sparkly Ring-tailed Dragon, she has a special striped tail of glittery black and pink giraffe rings, a little more work but the effect is well worth it.

This pink giraffe glitter Lycra velvet fabric certainly made me say “Wow”, I used a black glitter Lycra velvet fabric for the belly, under wings, palms and foot pads. The ears are a pink glitter fabric, and a black glitter fabric.

Her back spine and spiral wrapped horns, are a black velour fabric. I used a black texture paint for her claws and face nubs. Marzipan has a mane of black faux fur with silver wisps and Rose -pink eyes.

Buy setting the legs back a bit, the balance of the dragon changed enough that Marzipan can set up. Definitely going to do this for all future Shoulder dragons….

Marzipan is approximately 53 inches – measured from her nose- ring, over the head, along the back to her tail tip, and has a full length ball and socket armature.

Her body, depending on the pose is 14 x 12 inches- with a very long tail.  Taller if she is posed standing on her back legs.

The wings are fully wired and have a span of approximately – 30 inches. The arms and legs are attached with covered button joints, and are fully wired, and may be posed with care.

This Dragon can sit upon your shoulder while you go on your adventures. The feet should be slightly cupped to fit upon your shoulder, drape the tail down your back and up and over to your opposite shoulder for balance.

Check out these new dragon fabrics

Just acquired these amazing velvet fabrics from “Spandex World”, can’t wait to start hatching these dragons.
